A part of our Te Reo Tots Collection, this poster features numbers 0-10, each illustrated in vibrant colours with hand-drawn Māori style motifs. It has been thoughtfully designed to help tamariki (children) develop their counting skills and number recognition.
– Counting helps tamariki develop their cognitive skills, such as memory, attention, and sequencing abilities.
– It allows them to be able to tell people how old they are and to start to articulate ‘how many’ of things there are in Te Reo Māori, giving them the kupu (words) to help with things like measuring ingredients or counting money.
– Pair with hands-on resources such as beans, felt pom poms or balls to encourage counting by feeling each quantity and seeing the number.
– Prepares them for further problem solving and mathematical thinking.
Our Nga Tau – Numbers Poster works well displayed on its own or paired with our Te Arapu Maori – Alphabet Poster and Ngā Āhua – Shapes Posters for the perfect set.
